1. What is the delivery time frame for your custom-made shade sails?
Our custom-made shade sails will deliver typically within three to five weeks. If the project is more complex and requiring more time we will let you know. We will send you an email upon shipment and we will also send you a follow up email when we can verify that your product(s) has arrived.
2. What is the delivery time frame for a premium shade sails?
Our premium shade sails are available for immediate delivery. We will send you an email upon shipment and we will also send you a follow up email when we can verify that your product(s) has arrived.
3. What is the delivery time for your turnkey shade structures?
Standard sized turnkey shade structures commonly used for playgrounds, parking, etc are available within a twenty-one day or less time frame. More complex larger shade structures can take anywhere between 4-8 weeks, again depending on the complexity of the job. At this point in time we can only provide our turnkey packages in Texas and Florida.
4. What is so special about shade cloth?
Shade cloth has many advantages over traditional awning fabrics. All our shade cloth is UV treated so that it will withstand the sun for 10 years. It is guaranteed to not fade, rot, sag or mildew due to UV exposure for that 10-year period.
The other BIG advantage is that shade cloth is porous, thus anything underneath will enjoy temperatures up to 20 degrees cooler. Tiny holes in the cloth allow for air to pass through. This creates a cooler protected atmosphere for your loved ones, customers, property, etc.
5. Why do you brag about using “tenera-Gore Tex” awning thread.
Since not all awning thread is created equally, we only use UV treated thread. Past experience has taught us that cheap thread will come undone in the sun quickly. So therefore, in order to do less warranty work than needed, we use only the best materials for both or shade sails and shade structures. This benefits the customer who is going to be using and enjoying the shade; not waiting for resolved warranty issues, etc.
6. What type of steel goes into the making of a ShadeIt turnkey shade structure or DIY fixing post?
We use different sizes of steel according to the scope of the project. Our most basic turnkey structures use standard 4X4 black carbon square tubing with a ¼ inch wall thickness. We only source steel that meets with ASTM standards and is in compliance with local building codes.
7. What kind of hardware do you use for your shade sails or shade structures?
We only use stainless steel nuts, bolts and aircraft tow rated cable for all of our products. Since shade structures and sails are exposed to rain, moisture, etc, we prefer to use hardware that wont rust or deteriorate.
8. Is shade cloth waterproof?
The answer is 100% NO. Shade cloth is meant to be porous to allow for airflow. No one can guarantee a 100% waterproof awning type structure. Rain falls at different angles, and can come in through the sides of the structure. The benefits of shade cloth truly lie in its ability to filter dangerous ultraviolet rays.
9. What is the length of your warranties for your products?
All of products are backed by a solid warranty. Our shade sails are guaranteed for ten years. If your shade top comes undone due to faulty workmanship we will fix it under our warranty terms and conditions for 10 years. This same warranty applies to shade tops used for shade structures. Furthermore, we will guarantee the structural integrity for all steel used in either a turnkey shade structure or DIY fixing post for 20 years. Lastly, we will warranty the powder coating for up to 1 year.
10. What types of paint options are available for the posts sold with turnkey shade structures or DIY fixing posts?
We can powder coat in multiple of color options. Standard colors include red, yellow, white, green, silver, royal blue, navy blue, brown, beige, etc. We can also use a galvanized finish for your structure should you request.
11. Why do your products cost what they are?
In order to provide the kind of service and quality of product we need to be able to purchase quality materials, hire skilled dedicated employees, insurance, rent, utilities, equipment, supplies, etc. Our primary objective is to make a profit. This profit ensures that our will be around to service your warranty needs, answer questions, etc. Therefore in order for us to survive long term, we must charge accordingly. We are not interested in business that does not turn a profit for our company. Past experiences have taught us that it is just not worth it to take a job too cheaply and loose money. Loses lead to poor service, quality deterioration, etc. This effects all of our customers and is just not worth it.
12. How long does it take to install a shade structure?
Depending on the scope of the project, typical structures such as cantilevers, 4 post structures, t-posts, etc should take about 2 days to compete the job. On first the day the holes are dug and the poles are set in concrete. If everything goes smoothly than the next day, after the concrete dries, the upper structure and top are put on and the structure is ready for use. However, unforeseen underground obstructions possibly encountered during the digging process can cause delays and increase costs. Therefore, it is very important that the customer contact (800) 344-8377 (Texas only).
13. How long does it take to install a premium or custom DIY shade sails?
DIY shade sails are not difficult to install. You will need to find fixing points where you want to attach the sail. This could be a tree, side of your home, or one of our premium fixing posts.
